Rey Fenix made his surprise return from injury on the April 27th edition of AEW Dynamite.
On the January 5th the Lucha Brothers defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against Jurassic Express.
The main event of that week’s Dynamite tore the house down and saw Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus claim tag team gold for the first time. However, the bout was marred by a serious injury to Rey Fenix.
During the match, Fenix was on the receiving end of a Chokeslam from the ring apron, through a table to the floor from Luchasaurus. Fenix could be seen stretching out his left arm as he careered towards the floor through the table. Unfortunately, his arm got caught as he hit the ground and then bent into an angle that arms aren’t supposed to bend into.
It was later announced that Fenix had dislocated his elbow.

Fast forward to April 27th and Fenix made a shock return to AEW television after spending almost five months away.
During Dynamite, the lights went out a prone by Fuego Del Sol was shown lying on the top of the stage. The House of Black then arrived at the top of the ramp and teased taking off his mask.
However, Alex Abrahantes appeared in the ring under a cloak and taunted the three men who went down to the ring. Pento Oscuro and PAC made their entrances before being followed into the action by Abrahantes, thus revealing that he couldn’t have been the cloaked figure in the ring.
Instead the mystery man removed his robe to reveal he was in fact Rey Fenix. With Death Triangle reunited they took the fight to the House of Black, ending with a triple drive over the top rope, taking out their rivals.
