Nestled near the River Wye, it's the ultimate summer staycation spot.
This cool, converted 18th century gothic chapel nestled near the River Wye, Brecon Beacons, ushers in a vibrant colour palette — and it's now available to rent .
The quirky property, aptly named Chapel On The Green, has been beautifully modernised to create a welcoming home. What once was a place of praise is now the ideal pad for a city-dwellers escaping the rat race for a week in Wales.
Step through the church archway and you'll find original windows, high ceilings which offer a sense of grandeur, wooden flooring, and statement-making paint choices. Traditional pews have been replaced with comfortable sofas, while the view across the village green can be seen from the upper hallway.
Functional areas like the kitchen are blue and green, while soft pink has been applied to the main bedroom (there are four in total) to keep things calm. Over in the open-plan living area, you'll find a large dining table, cosy sofa and a snug area for unwinding with a book.
Roses, which have a number of symbolic meanings in Christianity and other religions, can be found in the borders outside, as can blossoming clusters of verbena bonariensis. There is also a small bistro table for alfresco dining and towering bushes which provide privacy from passersby.
'This quirky property is the ideal escape for artistic souls or those with an appreciation for fabulous artwork,' says host Sara. 'If you can tear yourself away from the house, the village has a lot to offer. Enjoy wild swimming at The Bont, stride out into the wilderness of The Begwyns or simply tuck into a hearty meal at the cosy pub.'
